Upward Mobility!

Emerge KL 2008 is over! It's been a hectic month and crazy weekend, but like everyone said, it's truly life-changing. I personally have learned so much and picked up so much from Ps Kong and the Singapore team. Not to mention extremely inspired by the celebs who shared their testimonies.

Let us hold on to everything we've learned, and strive for upward mobility friends!

And well, before Emerge, I refused to allow myself to think about my wedding, but now...

KAN CHEONG-NESS! 18 days to go!

Last Anniversary @ The Chalet

We celebrated our 4th and last "couple" anniversary last night! Hehehe... next year onwards, we'll be celebrating our wedding anniversary. :)

By the way, The Chalet @ the Equatorial Hotel is really quite a nice place for special occassions! Hehehe.. very romantic. Every waiter had an air of elegance about them, and they made us feel like we were being served by certified butlers.

Then of course, they had a small group (can't remember what you call them already), where three men played string instruments and a woman sang. Actually, all of them sang, and it sounded very beautiful! They went table to table and just serenaded the patrons.

Oh, and, the restaurant found out that we were celebrating our anniversary, so they gave us a complimentary yummy cake, rose and picture (as above). :D

Hahaha I guess most of you are wondering, what about the food? The food was quite nice, but what's more memorable is the experience and the atmosphere... and the yummy chocolate cake!

So the lesson of the day is, besides having the substance, packaging is also important. Hahaha!

Warfare at Vogue

IT'S SO DIFFICULT!!!!!!!

Shaohen and I finally went to choose our pre-wedding pictures at Vogue Collection yesterday, and I tell you, it was extremely difficult! Thank God we've already psyche ourselves a long time, and was really determined to stay disciplined so that we won't fall into temptation.

hahaha... so what exactly am I talking about?

Well, the photographer at Vogue Collection had taken about 400+ of our pictures during our pre-wedding photo-shoot. So many right? But the problem is, we could only choose about 28, because of our package. Of course, if we want to choose more pictures we can, but it also mean paying more.

We were very determined NOT to pay more, so we set out on this mission with a very focused mind.

At first, it was super easy to cut from 400+ pictures to about 192. Then another round saw us reduce 192 to about 72. And finally from that 72 to 50.

Now here's the really difficult part... Haihhh... Our hearts literally broke when we had to cut from 50 to 28. So so so hard, because we really liked all the 50 pictures. But we didn't want to top up la, because those money can be put into much better use.

And so! We managed to walk away from Vogue without paying extra! Woo hoo! Hahahhaa... We're quite proud of our determination and discipline hahahaha. But still a bit heartbroken because of all the nice pictures that we won't have. It's ok... we still have Grant for our actual wedding day!

So a piece of advice for those of you who are getting married soon, it's possible for you to stick to your budget! The pre-wedding pictures may look very nice, but keep reminding yourself that it's the actuall wedding day pictures that are going to be the important ones! ;)

*phew* 3+ months to go!

The Audition of the Gowns

It's done!

Trying the wedding gowns, I mean.

Well it was a great experience! Trying on 50-60 dresses (according to Shaohen) in the span of about 3++ hours is really memorable, hahaha. Thank God for the people who went with me, as they helped made the experience sweeter :)

I was told that you'll only really feel like you're getting married when you're trying on the gowns. At the time when I was busy trying them out, I really didn't feel much of the wedding vibe... It was more of "QUICKLY LET'S JUST FINISH THIS BEFORE 7PM!!".

But AFTER the whole thing, like NOW, I'm really excited and can't wait to get married. People, really. Getting married is fun, SO GO AND GET MARRIED NOW!!! :P

As I was in a hurry, and in such focus to get the right dresses, I forgot to take pictures of the other gowns that I tried :O. Sorry W31!

BUT, here are two sneak previews... One is simple and nice, while the other makes me feel like a greek goddess / olympic torch bearer. Nope, both are not the chosen ones. :)

Makes me proud

I am constantly challenged by my dear, to stretch and grow, and to live in a totally different level of faith in God. His generosity astounds me - sometimes to great joy, sometimes to great exasperation. But, I'm so proud of him :)

Trying Outs

I finally got to try my first wedding gown, and it happened at...

CHURCH.

That's right. I put on my first teng-teng-teng-teng gown in church, specifically in the artist room. Haha. When some of the guys from Easter prac saw me, they asked me "Nat, is this for the drama?"

-.-"

Anyway, thanks to Sarah's cousin, who graciously offered to loan me the gown if I wanted it, I got to try one for the first time. And really, like Sarah said, you don't feel like you're really getting married until you wear a wedding gown.

When Shaohen walked in, immediately images of thousands of Hong Kong and Korean drama scenes flashed through my mind. You know, when the curtains are drawn, the man would be like so stunned looking at his girl in the wedding gown. Everyone would somehow vanish, music would play, camera would zoom, and the girl's eyes would just light up.

I even wondered if I should do a little twirl and give a sheepish smile.

Anyway, all the other people who subsequently barged in spoiled the mood la. Sheesh. :P Hehehe.

So, that little taste has made me even more excited about gown-fitting at Vogue Collection! Hopefully we can do that soon, and then it's time for pre-wedding photo shoot. Woo hoo!

Wedding page

Weeeeeeeeee! I've done up more stuff in our wedding website already. Though it's only about 30% done (considering that our actual wedding preparation is also about 29.95% done), it's still enough to make me excited.

If you want to, you can check it out at www.mywedding.com/shaohennatalie. It's quite a good place if you want to get your own wedding website too!

Anyway, the website will be updated as we go along :)

Splashing great time!

Shaohen and I finally fulfilled our 2007 dream of going on a trip together to.... SUNWAY LAGOON!! Hahahaha... yes, that's the child within us speaking.

Anyway, it was even more fun than expected! We went on the exciting rides and then just chilled inside the pool, ate some really out-of-our-minds-expensive lunch, and slapped tonnes of sunblock on ourselves. But it was really good! Couples, it's highly recommended that you plan a date to Sunway Lagoon :D.

Sadly, some of the things were under construction / upgrade, and we were too tired to go on more rides, so perhaps we'll go again soon! Hehehehe. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we had a purrrrrrrrrrrr-fect start to the day with yummylicious JCo donuts! And, I never knew that the BEST donut is the ORIGINAL JCo donuts! It's to die for!

So, if you're in a relationship, do get your gf / bf / husband / wife to go with you to Sunway Lagoon at least once. And no, they're not paying me commission.

Dua Empat Empat

According to the countdown counter, we have 244 days more to our wedding! I'm beginning to have the surreal feeling, and have been telling Shaohen, "I wonder how it feels like to be married." Of course, his only reply is, "It's gonna be great!"

I mean, what else can he say right? Haha.

And so, back to the planning of the big day... I'm quite happy because as of now, we've got most of our plans down on paper already, and we basically know where to get what we want. But then again, I'm sure there are still stuff that we're not really sure, and for this we want to thank Sarah and Juli for helping! :D
